Why Meraxis exists

A small training practice built around one narrow, lawful method of working.

Line 01 — Origin

Started around a kitchen table in Machakos

Meraxis began as a set of informal sessions for a handful of county reporters who kept asking the same question: how do you actually read a budget document, line by line, without losing the thread across financial years?

What started as an afternoon of walking through disbursement records grew into a structured practice, still built entirely on published, lawfully obtained material. We have never taught, and will never teach, methods that rely on anything else.

Today the sessions run across counties, but the approach has stayed the same: slow, careful, and grounded in what the documents actually say.

Line 03 — Values

What guides the work

01 /

Lawful, always

Every technique we teach relies on documents that are already public. There is no version of this work that cuts that corner.

02 /

Precision over drama

A figure quoted correctly, in the right context, does more work than a striking headline built on a loose reading.

03 /

Fair time to respond

Offices named in a report deserve adequate notice and a genuine chance to comment before anything is published.
